Many research groups from Neuroscience are studying
Parkinson's disease,
a pathology that induces many movement disorders. Therefore, it is
often
useful to measure motor activity in order to understand the
mechanisms
involved in this disease and the potential medication effects for
the
treatment of this condition.
-
MPTP is a drug used in primate research (Marmoset,
Rhesus), and since it induces
Parkinsonian symptoms, our Vigie Primates system
is recommended for this type of experiment. It
easily measures the motor activity of up
to 16 animals without sensors attached to them.
-
SynchroTracker may also be used for further 2D
or
3D arm movement analysis.
-
LabWatcher allows to manually identify
specific behaviors that are usually impossible to
analyze automatically.
